Does the meta-acknowledgment that everyone's in it for the bucks give a purposefully dopey sequel more cred? ... You bet.. Hellboy II, though not as keenly conceived or nimbly executed as its predecessor, is still likable entertainment.. This film is happy to coast on its good humor and brilliant action pieces.
